“We were really in a bind and needed to find a new LIS as quickly as possible in order to continue to deliver uninterrupted lab services. We considered many of the leading vendors and chose the latest version of Psyche Systems' LabWeb because it fit our needs very nicely in terms of functionality, budget and the hosted delivery model. Thanks to Psyche's hosted offering and experienced, dedicated support team, we were able to bring a full featured laboratory system live in approximately six weeks.” -- Judy Robertson, Laboratory Manager at Columbus Community Hospital |
Personal, Professional Service Psyche Systems has assembled a talented team of experts from both the healthcare and information technology industries to deliver world-class information system solutions for the laboratory environment. Many members of Psyche's training, implementation, support staff and other service professionals are certified medical and cytology technologists who work closely with other members of the engineering staff with backgrounds rich in IT network and systems support. Employees bring experience from organizations such as the American Red Cross and SmithKline Beecham (now Quest Diagnostics), as well as Digital Equipment Corp., Verizon and Dimension Data Systems. Psyche's dynamic group organization system fosters strong employee loyalty and infuses energy and innovation into all aspects of Psyche's operations. Comprehensive Training Psyche Systems' software is designed to adapt to a laboratory's existing processes and procedures not vice versa as is the case with other software products. The customer-guided product development process also institutes best practices in the software design to constantly advance the technology and promote greater efficiencies and improvements in laboratory service across the customer base. As with any new software application, training is imperative to ensure that the system functions optimally for all who use it. Psyche Systems has developed a training curriculum specifically designed to address an organization's individual needs that comprises four key areas: preparation and materials, indepth onsite sessions, the post-training period, and post-live application support. Additional training for new users and/or specialized or advanced application functions and modules is also available and includes areas such as database structure, management reports, and patient archival. Additionally, at the customer's option, an application specialist can be available for on-site support during parallel and/or live. Rapid Implementation Psyche Systems understands that sometimes, particularly in a tight economy, gaining budget approval for an IT project can be an arduous process. Therefore, once funds are allocated to the deployment of a laboratory information system, Psyche Systems works closely with its counterparts within the hospital or laboratory to ensure a smooth implementation process. To help hospitals and laboratories facilitate a rapid implementation schedule, Psyche assigns each customer a dedicated implementation team comprised of system engineers, application specialists, programmers and technical support personnel, as well as an account manager who carefully orchestrates the entire implementation process and acts as the primary liaison to the site for the duration of the relationship – which has spanned two decades now for some clients. From the moment a contract is signed, a carefully orchestrated implementation schedule is executed on, from an initial pre-installation conference call to physical equipment placement and cabling requirements through on-site training and data conversions. Each customer receives a Standard Implementation Plan, which typically includes the recommended timing for each of the 15-18 steps in the implementation process. Depending on site-specific issues and requirements, an implementation could take as little as seven weeks. The account manager works closely with the client contact(s) to determine what makes the most sense for each particular organization to ensure that both the site's and users' needs are adequately met.
