Application Specialist/Trainer
Psyche Systems Corp. is currently seeking qualified professionals to join its Client Services team as an Application Specialist to train and support its WindoPath anatomic pathology information system. The ideal candidate will have prior experience providing training and application support, and/or working with healthcare information systems. Specific experience as a certified histotechnologist, cytotechnologist or pathologists’ assistant is considered a plus. Qualified candidates will have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be high-energy individuals who feel at ease presenting and explaining computer functionality in front of small groups.

Key responsibilities of this position include preparing for and conducting training sessions for customers, and providing application support following the implementation of new software via phone and email. To prepare for on-site trainings at customer facilities, the Application Specialist will also take charge of developing the courseware, training plans and implementation documentation. S/he will also test new enhancements and modifications to the software and update technical documentation as needed. Candidates must therefore be customer service oriented; possess strong analytical and technical skills; and be able to work well independently and in a team environment. The job involves about 25% travel.

Position Requirements

• Pathology Laboratory expertise
• Prior application training and/or customer service experience in a healthcare setting
• Excellent oral and written communications skills, including presentation skills
• High level of proficiency using software; strong technical aptitude
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
• Flexible team player; ability to work independently and in groups
• Ability to travel, including air travel - 25% of the time

Considered a plus

• Certification in Histology/Cytology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Hands-on experience with software training, installation and technical support
• Specific experience using BrioQuery software
• Experience with laboratory or other medical software (in a user capacity)
